All tiers are free and open worldwide to anyone over the age of 16.

Criteria for collaborating members
In order to qualify for additional benefits, members must meet one of the following criteria:
- Author on an HCA-branded publication
- Serve as a coordinator of a Biological Network
- Serve as a member of an HCA working group, task force, or regional network steering committee
- Serve as an integration and/or annotation lead for any HCA Atlas
- Contribute data to our Data Portal
