The HCA Asia Regional Network was launched in 2017, with the first HCA Asia diversity meeting held in Okinawa, Japan, 30 November to 1 December, 2017. This meeting brought distinguished scientists from India, Japan, South Korea and Singapore together to discuss approaches and opportunities to participate in the global HCA initiative. Since then the HCA Asia Network has grown to include more than 750 members from 18 countries in the region, and holds regular meetings and training opportunities to build the community.
Flagship HCA projects within Asia include the Asian Immune Diversity Atlas (AIDA) which is generating datasets from major Asian population groups to define an atlas of Asian cell types and states, and deepen understanding of the drivers of health and disease.
